Mechanical Engineer (38 hours per week)

The Mechanical engineer is responsible for the specification of mechanical equipment (such as vessels, filters, pumps, compressors and heat exchangers) as well as complete package units in accordance with client requirements, authority regulations etc.

You will be responsible for the complete cycle of equipment specification, supplier selection, purchase of equipment, supplier drawing review, equipment acceptance and delivery to site, site (erection) support and turn-over. The Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for quality, cost and scheduling activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Planning and organizing the work
  • Writing and reviewing mechanical specifications
  • Maintaining schedules and equipment estimates
  • Cooperate with client, third parties and project disciplines / field
  • Generation of engineering proposals / specifications for standard or special products, including determining cost-effective materials for production
  • Support the transition of a product from development into production
  • Undertake detailed design analysis for product enhancement projects
  • Making changes in the design according to clients' wishes
  • Maintain engineering databases
  • Develop constructions out of a concept with an eye for quality, cost, feasibility, safety and lead time
  • Responsible for correct technical drawings
  • Identifying possible deviations within the project and optimization
  • Constructing and calculating filtration systems in accordance with the standards (such as ASME VIII, AD2000, EN13445, PED)
  • Modeling filtration systems in 3D drawing programs (experience with Autodesk Inventor is preferred)
  • Working out the orders including lists with pieces of materials and make drawings (2D)

We are looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with relevant product equipment or industry
  • Msc or Bsc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
  • Strong experience of design & development within Engineering
  • Commercial awareness, and the ability to translate complex technical data to a commercial understanding
  • Able to adapt to a variety of situations
